CAFE VENICE LAUNCHES PROGRAM TO HELP FEED HUNGRY.

Cafe Venice, in conjunction with Johnson Brothers Wine of Alabama, The National Football League and E.&J. Gallo Winery is starting an exciting new program to help feed the hungry in Tuscaloosa and surrounding areas.

Super Bowl XLIII marks the 18th Anniversary of the program, which was established in 1992 by the NFL and has donated over $10 Million to hunger-relief groups to date. Gallo will be donating 30 meals to local hunger relief organizations for each case of wine sold by Cafe Venice from now through November. Last year over 50,000 meals were donated in the Northern Alabama area in 2007 alone.

“This is a great program for us to be involved with as it ties our passion for great wine and food and our local community,” said Manager Adam Swansen. “I’m excited about this chance to turn more people on to great wine and at the same time be able to help feed people in our local community who are in need.”

Cafe Venice is going to feature 3 great wines from Johnson Brothers and Gallo, Bridlewood Reserve Syrah from the Central Coast of California, Don Miguel Gascon Malbec from Mendoza Argentina and MacMurray Ranch Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast of California.

Cafe Venice has been a Downtown Tuscaloosa staple for the last 10 years and is known for their great food and wine. Please come in and support a great local business and a great cause.
