Energy Star-qualified CFL bulbs (compact florescent light) are all the rage these days. Your seeing more shelf space in your local stores dedicated to this type of lighting.
If you look closely you’ll notice that many of the new lights and multi-light packages are the plastic clamshell type of packaging. It’s bulky, has sharp edges and makes it very difficult to get your purchase out of its packaging without a great deal of effort.
It’s curious that the environmental groups, retailers, along with the everyday shopper, haven’t been moved to outrage of this type of environmentally unfriendly packaging. How much money is being wasted on the packaging, thus eliminating the savings of purchasing the lights in the first place?
